Neither Here

Nor There

Home is often defined as the place where a person lives. However, that is rarely how people truly define what home means. The meaning of home varies from person to person; no two people carry the same home in their minds. Home can be a place of familiarity, shared meals, safety, family, and often so much more.

“Neither Here Nor There” explores what home means to someone whose heart is split across many places. By traveling to locations where the people I consider “home” reside, I seek to understand what truly makes a place feel like home to me. I question whether I live more fully in the transitional spaces, between destinations, rather than in any fixed location. Whether I can ever feel completely at home when parts of me always seem to be missing. This series is grounded in my personal search for the meaning of home, but it also aims to reflect a shared human experience: the disorientation of being physically present in a space that doesn’t always feel emotionally grounding.
